Synopsis
Between the 16th and 19th centuries, 25,000 convoys of approximately 300 to 450 African captives crossed the Atlantic after a 40-to-50-day journey to the Antilles. More than a million of them lost their lives.
Thus, to meet the labor needs of its colonies, Europe deported more than 14 million captives from various African countries; for the sole purpose of exploiting them in plantations. We are here at the heart of colonial slavery.
