Synopsis
In a modern city in China in 2022, photographer Wang Wei, who opened a small photo studio, accidentally reunited with Yang Xin, a middle school classmate he had not seen for a long time. The two quickly fell in love with each other. But after Wang Wei and Yang Xin attended a party with their rich old classmate Chen Feng, Yang Xin suddenly disappeared. During Wang Wei’s search, he learned that his home in an urban village (a slum area in the core urban area of the Chinese city)was about to be forcibly demolished by Chen’s father’s company. Wang Wei always suspected that Chen Feng had something hidden. At this time, Chen Feng’s father’s business rival found Wang Wei and wanted Wang Wei to help him collect evidence of Chen Feng’s father’s extramarital affair as a blackmail. In Wang Wei’s search for Yang Xin, he gradually learned about Yang Xin’s unknown true situation. Wang Wei photographed evidence of Chen Feng’s father’s affair outside the hotel, but found out that the woman Chen Feng’s father had an affair with was the missing Yang Xin, whom he loved deeply. Chen Feng’s wealthy family background and Yang Xin’s look back in the photos are something that is extremely out of reach for the poor photographer Wang Wei.
