Synopsis
Davide is a man who cannot sit still, an undeterred dreamer, and a tireless father. However, when he is diagnosed with ALS at the age of 52, everything he took for granted turns into a race against time. Like the candles of a chandelier going out one by one, Davide’s body undergoes a slow and inexorable transformation. His breathing grows labored, his voice falters, and his movement becomes unstable. Yet, his dreams remain. Obstacles are thus reshaped into projects of dignity, connection, and giving back. Drawing on his experience in the culinary and restaurant industry, Davide tackles the swallowing difficulties typical of dysphagia by developing foods with adapted textures that refuse to compromise on unique flavor. His passion for cooking becomes the driving force behind a deeply rooted solidarity network, allowing him to rise above the suffering of the disease and place himself once again at the heart of meaningful life projects and shared experiences
