Synopsis
Today, when hard-working immigrants are under attack from several sides in public debate, we want to show how exposure to popular kebab stands strengthens Polish society’s openness to other people and cultures. We show the people from whom we buy kebabs on our way to the train station, between classes, during breaks between university lectures, or after a party, as those who immigrated to Poland and found a better, happier life here. And they have made our lives a little better, too.
We talk to our experts about how kebabs rhyme with the free market and tolerance with development. We also talk about the history of this dish and Polish street food. Of course, we also talk to the people who make and sell kebabs. Their stories add up to something that most of us already feel. It’s about the Polishness of kebabs, which, although foreign, have become Polish. And that is the power of the free market, the biggest and best machine for lifting people out of poverty while meeting a variety of needs.
