Synopsis
The film Tharini reflects the greedy mentality of the staff in the medical field, wanting to exploit the current situation of female foeticide.
The hero of the film Ranjan gets her pregnant wife scanned at the scanning centre and when he comes to know that the yet to be born baby is a female, he conspires with the doctor to abort the foetus, without the knowledge of his wife. His wife comes to know her husband’s intention and wants to save her child. The film narrates the challenges she faces while trying to save her child from getting aborted and how the scanning centre becomes instrumental in the female foeticide and the adverse effects of the imbalance in the male and female ratio in the society, and also throws light on the exploitation of women going on for ages.
