Luca Severi is the founder of LSPG Inc, an independent production company based in Los Angeles and Rome. His films have been selected by Oscar Qualifying film festivals such as SANTA BARBARA INTERNATIONAL FILM FESTIVAL, the AMDOCS of Palm Springs, and DOC EDGE of Auckland, New Zealand as well as several renowned international film festivals such as Beverly Hills Film Festival, Millenium Docs (Poland), Festa del Cinema di Roma (Italy) and many more.
He started his career working for broadcasters such as RAI, SKY, ZDF, CNN, and RTI-Mediaset before moving to the United States. There he developed his career as a camera operator and editor, taking his first chance at directing thanks to producer Dino De Laurentiis while working on several films as a behind-the-scenes director.
In 2013 he co-directed, along the side of Michele Placido, “Yorick’s Speech” a short film created for the 70th Venice Film Festival “Venice 70: Future Reloaded”.
His first feature project as director and producer was the feature documentary “The Two Revolutions” (2015), distributed in Italy with Sky Arte.
In 2017 he funds LSPG Inc in Los Angeles with the aim to develop and produce original feature films and documentaries. The same year directs “Calypso” which he co-produced with multi-award-winning actor/director Michele Placido while in 2019 he directs and produces “That Click” a feature documentary about legendary photographer Douglas Kirkland featuring interviews by Elle Fanning, Michelle Williams, Sharon Stone, Andy Garcia, Baz Luhrmann and many more.
